Debbie Ridley
Debbie Ridley serves as the Church Office Manager and Secretary.
Where did you grow up, and what do you remember most about that time?
Raised in a traditional household, faith and family always came first. Growing up in West Hollywood (Miramar), and Pembroke Pines', life was simple, children played outside with their neighborhood friends. My parents were very active in our church. My dad sang in the choir, and my mom taught Sunday school; later both became deacons and elders.
We were blessed to spend some of our summers and winters visiting family in Minnesota & Wisconsin.
What other work did you do before you came to your current work at First Presbyterian?
I worked in banking for 13 years, and was an active community volunteer and managed various sports teams to include youth travel hockey. I held several non-clinical healthcare roles, including managing a hospital gift shop.
Additionally, I worked as a Territory Supervisor for Hallmark Cards.
What motivates you in your work here at the church, and what do you like most about what you do?
I am motivated to serve here because of the legacy my parents left behind. Working here now allows me to carry on with their dedication. What I love most about my position is honoring our family's history while serving our community every day.
What does your faith mean to you? How does it help you in your daily life?
Faith is the foundation of my life. Growing up in the church instilled in me a lasting inner peace. This deep connection gives me strength knowing God answers all my concerns in his time.
What are some of the things you like to do, hobbies, favorites shows, other activities?
In my free time, I cherish spending time with family and friends. My truest blessings are my three children, who are all adults, and my four beautiful grandchildren. Outside of family time, one of my favorite personal hobbies is photography.
I enjoy walking and spending time on the beach.
I enjoy winding down with TV shows like The Pitt, The Voice, Mediterranean Life, Travel & HGTV.
An avid sports fan thanks to my parents, I enjoy following the Pittsburgh Steelers football, University of Miami football,
Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, Florida Panthers hockey, and The Masters.
