At First Presbyterian Church, as we move out of this pandemic, we have two weekly gatherings each Sunday for worship, beginning with our Prayer on the Patio worship at 9:00 AM. This very simple worship gathering typically happens on our beautiful patio area (though it may move inside during the hot days of summer) and is a simple half-hour worship with an opening prayer, a talk by our pastor, Kennedy, and a closing prayer. Also, during Prayer on the Patio, we host our in-person children’s ministry, WaumbaLand, in the courtyard of our education building.
Our second worship is a hybrid gathering (in person and streaming) at 10:15 AM. This gathering has a vibrant yet traditional feel, and includes more music, lasting about 45 to 50 minutes. You can come in person or join that worship via livestream. In addition, we have designed our lobby so that parents with young children can see and hear the worship service while caring for their kids. That lobby area has a space called the Pray ground where kids can draw or look at books if they get distracted during this worship gathering, and a separate child-care area for younger children.

Come by and join us on a Sunday either in person or virtually. In our worship gatherings, we welcome everyone from those who are already following Jesus to those who are simply spiritually curious. Wherever you come from, whatever your color or ethnicity, whether you live in a million-dollar home or have no home at all, and no matter who you choose to love, at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, everyone has a place in God’s family. We would love you to find your place there too. In fact, you can zoom in with us too. The Zoom Bible Study (which is based on the message of the day) is at 11:30 AM each Sunday but feel free to join us up to 15 minutes beforehand if you would like to say hi and chat – Please contact us and we will send you the link.
And at First Church, our ministries to our community don’t stop on Sunday morning. In fact, we’ve centered our vision around inviting and welcoming everyone into God’s amazing love. So each weekday, you will find a Facebook video labyrinth walk, an inspiring quote for the day that is also posted on our Instagram, and even a TikTok prayer – @kennedyatfpcoh.org
We are here in person too, especially with a ministry we began thirty years ago, our Learning Centers. That ministry has now expanded to two campuses (Downtown and Hollywood Hills) and serves children and families from infants all the way through elementary, a ministry where every family and student there is also part of our wonderful extended family.

For at First Church, we truly believe a church can be an extended family, a community where everyone, adults and children can feel, as we put it in words we use at baptism, bathed in a sanctuary of belonging. At First Presbyterian, you will feel welcomed and included as part of a warm and diverse family of faith that truly cares for you!
