Waumbaland

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward."

PSALM 127:3

At First Presbyterian, we love kids, and at Prayer on the Patio at 9 AM each Sunday, families join us for an opening prayer at our Prayer on the Patio worship gathering (approximately half an hour). Kids then go with Coach Daniel to the Learning Center Courtyard for WaumbaLand, a special time of Bible-based activities and crafts while parents stay to enjoy a message from Pastor Kennedy.  (By the way, Waumba is a Swahili word for God, and we use it because it’s such a fun word for God!) The adults can join their kids in WaumbaLand, which is right across the street from the patio. And we take safety seriously at First Church. All of our staff (volunteer and paid) have gone through an extensive background check and have regular training to ensure that your kids are always safe and cared for. So come out to Prayer on the Patio with WaumbaLand at First Presbyterian!
Your kids will love it, and so will you!

What is WaumbaLand? Our Children’s Ministry

Fun-Filled Faith for Kids and Parents
Waumba means Creator in Swahili…..so, WaumbaLand means “Land of the Creator”. It’s our fun and engaging ministry for young children and their families. Designed to foster a sense of love and acceptance, WaumbaLand helps children learn about the gospel through positive messages (and fun crafts and activities!) that help kids learn that they are loved and that they matter.

Families connect with one another through a variety of events throughout the year……come out to our Summer Movie Nights (where parents can enjoy some down time with appetizers and adult beverages while kids watch a fun movie in their pajamas in the chapel), join us for the Dad’s and Kid’s BBQ and Beer (the beer is just for the Dads of course), or score big loot at the annual Easter Egg Hunt!
